INDIANAPOLIS — Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and National Republican Party Chairman Reince Priebus are headlining the Indiana Republican Party's 2014 convention in June.
Fort Wayne media reported Monday that the two national GOP leaders would be among the attractions to draw Republicans to Fort Wayne for the party's nominating convention. Republicans will be picking their candidates for secretary of state and state treasurer and auditor at the convention.
Indiana's Republicans have often held the conventions in Indianapolis, which is centrally located for delegates driving form the various corners of the state. But Allen County Republicans successfully lobbied the state party to hold the meeting in northeastern Indiana.
Indiana Democrats held their 2012 convention in Fort Wayne, looking to make inroads in the Republican stronghold.
