Pre-anniversary service Sunday

ANDERSON — Trinity Baptist Church, 1225 Madison Ave., will host a pre-anniversary service for the church’s pastor, the Rev. Ernest R. Prince, and his 23rd anniversary.

Pastor Earlie Dixon and congregation of New Birth Worship Center will be the guests. Service will begin at 3:30 p.m.

Revival begins Aug. 11 at Bethesda MBC

ANDERSON — MJR Ministries will be hosting the MJR Westside Community Revival starting Sunday, Aug. 11, though Friday, Aug. 16, in the church’s main worship area of Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, 2124 Cedar St., at 6:30 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 p.m. nightly. This year’s revival will feature pastors from around the county.

Pastors will include William M. Jackson of Samaria Baptist Church, Fort Worth, Texas; Donald Wright of Gold Gate Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas; Reginald Eddins of Union Missionary Baptist Church of Memphis, Tenn.; B.T. Steans of Springfield Baptist Church of Rome, Ga.; T.L. Wise of Trinity Fellowship Baptist Church of Manfield, Texas; and Tracey L. Streeter of Fellowship Family Church of Indianapolis.

Friendship Church celebrates Youth Day

ANDERSON — The youth of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 1540 W. 16th St., where Dr. Edgar M. Woodall is pastor, will celebrate Youth Day on Sunday at 10:40 a.m.

Guest speaker will be minister John Woodall III, son of Pastor John and Karen Woodall Jr. Woodall was called to the ministry at 15 and currently is youth minister at Christian Community Missionary Baptist Church of Indianapolis.

Other special guests include TaShia Pullin and Brandi Boyd. The youth also plan a special tribute to the late J’Aruis Beck. The theme is “No God No Peace. Know God Know Peace.”

ANDERSON — The father and son duo of Wilburn & Wilburn will be in concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at West Cross Street Alliance Church, 3102 W. Cross St.

    Nine-year-old Skylar King was not a volunteer or even a member of Greater Light Church, which Saturday gave away free school supplies, clothing and food during its annual Greater Light Gives Back event. The boy had played games to win tokens, and then he used them to buy each binder, saying he was giving his prizes away because he wanted to help other people.
