But what really gives me hope are the words of 1st John 3:1-3. “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”
Wow! God loves us so much He calls us His children, and we know, just as surely as spring follows winter, that our hope in Jesus means we will soon see Him and be like Him. What a hope! What a promise! What a Savior!
Even when the ground is covered in snow and spring seems a long way off, I put my trust in the hope I have in Jesus Christ. “Find rest, oh my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from Him,” (Psalm 62:5).
My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
