Grief reconciliation workshop series planned

ANDERSON — Are you an individual who has lost a loved one to death? You are in mourning. You are bereft. To be “bereaved” literally means to be torn apart. You are on a journey that is often frightening, painful, and lonely. No words, written or spoken, can take away the pain.

An educational and support series starts Thursday, Oct. 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the north/south parlor of First United Methodist Church. The six-week series will extend each Thursday through Nov. 14.

The workshop series provides an opportunity for bereaved individuals to explore and understand their grief and to help them on their journey of healing. Facilitator is the Rev. Donna K. Goings, pastor and retired R.N. She has facilitated several grief support groups in her pastoral appointments. She combines her own experience from personal losses with her professional training to assist people toward healing in their grief journeys.

Interested individuals must preregister to attend. A fee of $15 is charged to cover the cost of materials.

Information: Church office, 643-6977.
