ANDERSON — Bishop Robert White and First Lady Freddie White’s 40th annual Homecoming Service begins at 7 p.m. Oct. 2 and runs through Oct. 6, at 4 p.m. at Bethesda Temple Church, 315 MLK Jr. Blvd..
The theme is: “Forty years on the wall watching God work.” Isaiah 62:6.
Church Women United gathering
ANDERSON — On Friday, Sept. 27, at East Lynn Christian Church, 522 E. 53rd St., at 9:30 a.m. will host the Church Women United Area 8 annual area gathering. The theme is “Yes, I Am My Sister’s Keeper.”
Cost is $7 per person which includes lunch; reservations for lunch must be called in by Monday.
Missionaries Day celebrated Sunday
ANDERSON — Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 1225 Madison Ave., will celebrate its annual Missionaries Day at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Guest speaker will be evangelist Edwina Smith of Greater Progressive Temple of Faith.
Revival set at East Side House of Prayer
ANDERSON — East Side House of Prayer, 1512 E. 16th St., will have its fall revival with evangelist Danny Williams of Fort Myers, Fla., Sept. 26 through Sept. 30. Williams has traveled the U.S. preaching and singing.
Service times will be 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Frankton church adds 2nd service
FRANKTON — On Sept. 29, the First United Methodist Church in Frankton, 109 S. Eighth St., will change its morning schedule by adding a second worship service. The new service will be called NOW: New Outlook Worship and is targeting those who are not currently worshiping regularly at a church or would like to worship in a different way than they are currently. The new Sunday morning schedule will be: traditional worship, 8:45 a.m.; Sunday School, 10 a.m.; NOW service, 11:01 a.m.
Pre-anniversary service Sunday
ANDERSON — New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 2318 Sheridan St., will have its church pre-anniversary at 4 p.m. Sunday.
Guests will be Pastor L.D. Clay and the New Liberty Missionary Baptist Church of Muncie. Pastor is S.I. Foard.
Chariots-of-Fire begins services
ANDERSON — New to the community is Chariots-of-Fire Ministry, 800 E. 19th St., in the Habitat for Humanity Building.
Overseer is Apostle Betty Chamberlain. Prayer every Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Bible teaching every Thursday at 5 p.m.
Beginning Saturday, Sept. 28, and every Saturday at 5 p.m., there will be Anointed Praise and Deliverance Service.
Church receives Renewal grant
ANDERSON — Christian Theological Seminary, in its role of administering the Lilly Endowment Clergy Renewal Programs, has awarded 22 grants to congregations in 15 Indiana communities.
The 2013 Clergy Renewal Program for Indiana Congregations allows congregations to support their pastors with the gift of extended time away from their ministerial duties and responsibilities. Pastors use their respite from congregational leadership for reflection and renewal, including travel, scholarly research, and immersive experiences with various cultures and traditions.
Award the grant locally was Pastor Matthew Manning of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Theology professor to preach at chapel
ANDERSON — Dr. Guy Brewer, professor of pastoral theology, will preach at the Anderson University School of Theology Chapel at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Amity Rees will lead worship and Ethel Willard will serve as the chaplain in residence.
Homecoming at Free Will Baptist
ANDERSON -- East 38th Street Free Will Baptist Church’s congregation will host a Homecoming Celebration on Sunday. The church is located at 1125 E. 38th St.
Pastor Carroll Cullipher will preach the morning worship service at 11 a.m. Afternoon praise and singing by local artists will begin at 1:30 p.m.
Woody Wright in concert today
ALEXANDRIA — Woody Wright will be in concert at 6 p.m. today at Christian Congregation Church of Alexandria, 11015 N. 300E.
Tickets can be purchased at the door.
Homecoming Day planned for Sunday
PENDLETON — The Huntsville/Good Shepherd Church, 3126 W. Market St., will have Homecoming Day on Sunday. The church will also celebrate Pastor Claude and Myra Creel’s 25 years of service at the church.
Worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. with a dinner immediately following the service.
At 1:30 p.m. there will be a service of songs, praise and reflections on the past years with a video of past and current members.
