Church News: June 29


Special guests for the afternoon celebration beginning at 2 p.m. will be Pastor Earlie Dixon of New Birth Worship Center and his congregation.

Central Christian meeting at Summers Park

ANDERSON — Central Christian Church will move the 10 a.m. worship for Sunday, June 30, to Summers Park. This outdoor setting is located on the west side of Madison Avenue between Cross Street and Hartman Road. Please bring your own seating, such as a lawn chair or blanket. The congregation will have water, sun screen, insect repellent and hand-held fans available. Restrooms are accessible near the worship area.

Bethesda VBS July 9-11

ANDERSON — Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, 1611 E 43rd St., will host its Vacation Bible School July 9-11 from 4:45 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. each day. The theme is "Tell it on the Mountain (Where Jesus Christ is Lord)."

Pre-registration will be held at the church from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Transportation will be provided; participants must call the church before 3 p.m. each day before the school begins for transportation service begins

    Nine-year-old Skylar King was not a volunteer or even a member of Greater Light Church, which Saturday gave away free school supplies, clothing and food during its annual Greater Light Gives Back event. The boy had played games to win tokens, and then he used them to buy each binder, saying he was giving his prizes away because he wanted to help other people.
