Bethesda celebrates Pastoral Day

ANDERSON -- Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, 2124 Cedar St., will observe the seventh Pastoral Day of Pastor Floyd and First Lady Elizabeth Edwards during the 11 a.m. worship services Sunday.

Guest speaker will be Evangelist Phyllis Johnson, associate of Bethesda. The theme is “A Servant Who Abides Under God’s Service,” Corinthians 7:22-24.

Riechman soloist at Central Christian

ANDERSON -- Soprano Jaimie Riechman will be guest soloist at Central Christian Church, corner of 10th and Jackson streets, on Sunday. Ms Riechman, a student at Anderson University, will sing “Pie Jese” (Pyrtle) accompanied by Dr. Randy Frieling.

Later that afternoon, the public is invited to a piano concert at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary. Hye-young Suh, a native of South Korea and current professor of music performance, piano ensemble and music history at Sungkyul University in Anyyan, will be performing. Suh is travelling to Indiana specifically for two performances only, one of which is at Central Christian Church. There is no cost to attend. A free-will offering will be accepted.

Huntsville revival begins Sunday

PENDLETON -- The Huntsville/Good Shepherd Church, 3126 W. Market St., will host a revival beginning at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Monday through Wednesday the services will begin at 7 p.m.

The Evangelist will be Rev. Lane Loman of Columbus, Ind.

The public is invited to attend all services. The Rev. Claude Creel is Sr. Pastor of the church.

‘Singspiration Sunday’ at Linwood

ANDERSON -- The Church at Linwood, 561W. 600N., will host its monthly ‘Singspiration’ from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday. Special guest singer will be Connie Gardner (Anderson).

Also scheduled to sing will be Pastor John Ray, his daughter, Angela Rodriquez and Joyce Patterson. Buddy Patterson will be master of ceremonies.

Mt. Pilgrim hosts ‘Spiritual Explosion’

ANDERSON -- Dr. Susan Jones will be speaker at Mt. Pilgrim’s ‘Spiritual Explosion’ Nov. 1-2. Hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday with lunch provided at noon at the church. There will be a 1 p.m. annointing service.

    Nine-year-old Skylar King was not a volunteer or even a member of Greater Light Church, which Saturday gave away free school supplies, clothing and food during its annual Greater Light Gives Back event. The boy had played games to win tokens, and then he used them to buy each binder, saying he was giving his prizes away because he wanted to help other people.
