Cross Roads hosts tent revival

ANDERSON — Everyone is invited to attend an Old-fashioned Big Tent Revival that will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at Cross Roads United Methodist Church, 2000 N. Scatterfield Road. Following the service on Friday there will be an ice cream social.

All services will include special singers, lots of music, preaching and commitment time. Saturday, July 27, following vacation Bible school at 6 p.m. the big tent revival will continue. The revival will continue at the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday services in the sanctuary. Following the revival services on Sunday there will be an all-church pitch-in picnic at noon.

Linwood hosts 'Singspiration Sunday'

ANDERSON — Pianist and singer Dave Elmore will return as featured guest for July's "Singspiration Sunday" at The Church of Linwood, 561 W. 600N.

Also singing will be the Linwood Singers including Pastor John Ray, Shirley and Richard Retherford and Joyce Patterson. Buddy Patterson will be the emcee.

Foxs lead Fortville Nazarene service

FORTVILLE — The Fortville Church of the Nazarene, 701 S. Maple St., invites the public to attend its worship service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. Dr. Bryce Fox and his wife, Beth, will be leading the service in music and the message. They served the Fortville congregation many years ago as youth pastors.

Bryce Fox, an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene, has served on staff at several churches and, with his wife, founded the not-for-profit organization Foundation Builders Inc. (F.B.I. Ministries) to reach out to youth and families.

Deacon Appreciation service Sunday

ANDERSON — Church Upon the Rock Deacon, 303 E. 29th St., will host its annual Deacon Appreciation Service at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Special guest will be Elder Don Smith and his congregation of Indianapolis.

    Nine-year-old Skylar King was not a volunteer or even a member of Greater Light Church, which Saturday gave away free school supplies, clothing and food during its annual Greater Light Gives Back event. The boy had played games to win tokens, and then he used them to buy each binder, saying he was giving his prizes away because he wanted to help other people.
