Church News: June 14

Father's Day program Sunday

ANDERSON — James and Daisy Warner and the board of directors will present a Father's Day program at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Impact Center, 630 Nichol Ave.

Rev. Melvin Bufford will be the guest speaker with featured performers God's Army of Boliver, Tenn.

Others that will perform include, Anderson Zion Male Chorus, Danielle Kelly, Sensation Bells of Joy, Zion Male Chorus, Team Warner and Obedience Singers.

Tickets are $15.

Mt. Pilgrim ministry hosts workshop

ANDERSON — Mt. Pilgrim Church Senior Usher Ministry, 615 Henry St., will host its 11th annual workshop Saturday, June. 21.

Breakfast will be served at 9:30 a.m. with workshop beginning at 10 a.m. Speakers will be Essie Woods of Second Baptist Church, Larisha Bailey and Cleveland Coleman of Mt. Pilgrim Church and Darlene Williams of Friendship Baptist Church.

There is no cost to participants. Please bring your Bible.

Beyond the Ashes in concert June 20

ANDERSON — Southdale Church of the Nazarene, 530 W. 53rd St., will present Beyond the Ashes at 7 p.m. Friday, June 20.

A $10 donation will be taken at the door as well as a love offering.

Cross Roads VBS begins June 25

ANDERSON — "God & Me @ Sea" will be the theme of Cross Road United Methodist Church's Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 25-June 27.

The school is for children ages 2 through fifth grade. Registration begins at 5:30 each evening.

Christ Temple celebrates anniversary

ANDERSON — Christ Temple Church, 1610 West 22nd St., will celebrate its ninth Annual Pastoral Anniversary.

Schedule of speakers are as follows:

June 18 at 7:30 p.m.: District Elder Alfred Amos, Bethel Tabernacle of Indianapolis

June 19 at 7:30 p.m.: District Elder Royce Fields, Bethesda Temple of Indianapolis

June 20 at 7:30 p.m.: Suffragan Bishop Donsero Reynolds, Zion of Gary

June 22 at 11:30 a.m.: Elder Eddie Robinson, III, Christ Temple of Anderson

June 22 at 4:30 p.m.: Bishop William Harris, Victory Tabernacle of Indianapolis

    Nine-year-old Skylar King was not a volunteer or even a member of Greater Light Church, which Saturday gave away free school supplies, clothing and food during its annual Greater Light Gives Back event. The boy had played games to win tokens, and then he used them to buy each binder, saying he was giving his prizes away because he wanted to help other people.
