Grief reconciliation workshop series offered

The Herald Bulletin

---- — ANDERSON — First United Methodist Church will offer a five-week workshop series about grief and mourning to help bring comfort and encouragement to participants in their grief journey.

The educational and support series starts Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the north/south parlor. The series will extend each Tuesday through May 20. The workshop series provides an opportunity for bereaved individuals to explore and understand their grief and to help them on their journey of healing. The content is based on the work of grief educator, Dr. Alan Wolfelt. The series is facilitated by the Rev. Donna K. Goings, a pastor and retired nurse. Goings has facilitated several grief support groups in her pastoral appointments. She combines her own experience from personal losses with her professional training to assist people toward healing in their grief journeys.

The series is open to all who have suffered a loss through death, whether recent or in the past. Interested individuals must preregister to attend. Call the church office at 643-6977. A fee of $15 is charged for the course to cover the cost of materials.
