Alex community-wide revival set

ALEXANDRIA — Church Street Commons, 116 E. Church St., will host a community wide revival to renew, restore and rededicate April 27-29 at 6 p.m. The revival theme is "If My People ... 2 Chronicles 7:14 and will be conducted by Harrison Williams.

May Friendship Day celebrated

ANDERSON — Church Women United of Madison County Area 8 will celebrate May Friendship Day at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 2 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church 1540 W. 16th St.

The featured program topic is "Through God Our Hands Can Serve." A freewill offering will be collected and a pitch-in lunch to follow at noon. Least

Coins will be collected at the program.

National Day of Prayer Service May 1

ANDERSON — A community National Day of Prayer Service will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. May 1 at Southern Heights Christian Church, 5401 S. Madison Ave.

Special guests will be The Uncommon Quartet.

Millikan speaker at Central Christian Church

ANDERSON — Central Christian Church, 10th and Jackson streets, invites all to worship Sunday morning at 10 a.m. Guest speaker be Lay Pastor Jim Millikan. He will be sharing information on "Stephen Ministry: Sharing God's Love."

Saturday at 3 p.m., the public is invited to Festival of Bells. This concert, to be performed in Central's Sanctuary will feature Central Christian's Chancel Handbell Choir and guests. Director of Music Dr. Randal J. Frieling will host a reception in the church's parlor following the afternoon of music. There is no charge for admission. A freewill offering will be accepted.

Friendship celebrates 88th anniversary

ANDERSON — The Friendship Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its 88th church anniversary on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

    Nine-year-old Skylar King was not a volunteer or even a member of Greater Light Church, which Saturday gave away free school supplies, clothing and food during its annual Greater Light Gives Back event. The boy had played games to win tokens, and then he used them to buy each binder, saying he was giving his prizes away because he wanted to help other people.
