New Life Apostolic presents concert

ANDERSON — New Life Apostolic Church, 2330 Jefferson St., and Men of Integrity will host a gospel concert at 6 p.m. today. The concert will feature national recording artist Mary Clover of Cleveland, Ohio, and the New Life Apostolic Praise Team, among others. The lead pastor is John G. Jones.

Zion performingat Gethsemane

ANDERSON — Scotty Zion will sing gospel music at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Gethsemane Foursquare Church, 2320 E. 38th St.

Church hosts first family reunion

ANDERSON — West 14th Street Church of Christ, 1528 W. 14th St., will have its first family reunion from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the UAW Hall, 2840 S. Madison Ave.

The event is for all present and former members of the body of Christ. Fellowship, food, games, music and a talent show are among the events planned.

Men of IntegrityDay celebrated

ANDERSON — On Sunday, Mount Pilgrim Church, 615 Henry St., will celebrate its annual Men of Integrity Day.

Morning worship service festivities will begin with church school at 9:30 a.m.; doughnuts, coffee and juice at 10:30 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. W.C. Edwards, pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Muncie, and his congregation will be the guests. Special music will be provided by New Hope Choir and the Men of Integrity of Mount Pilgrim.

Dinner will be served in the church’s fellowship hall immediately after the morning worship.

Bethesda to celebrate anniversary

ANDERSON — Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church will observe its 98th anniversary on Sunday. During the 11 a.m. service, guests will be Pastor Robert Esters and First Missionary Baptist Church, Henderson, Ky.

This year’s theme is “The Church Called To Minister In Love,” 1 John 4: 7-12. The church is located at 2124 Cedar St. Host pastor is the Rev. Floyd Edwards Sr.

    Nine-year-old Skylar King was not a volunteer or even a member of Greater Light Church, which Saturday gave away free school supplies, clothing and food during its annual Greater Light Gives Back event. The boy had played games to win tokens, and then he used them to buy each binder, saying he was giving his prizes away because he wanted to help other people.
