Blast Off to Kindergarten to land in county

ANDERSON, Ind. — Blast Off to Kindergarten, an evening of fun and information, is planned for families and caregivers in Madison County who have children entering kindergarten next fall.

Kindergarten teachers will lead activities that focus on reading, math and language skills.

Children will receive a free Blast Off backpack filled with school supplies, a book and additional take home activities.

Some schools will provide an opportunity to ride a school bus and experience a light snack in the school cafeteria.

No pre-registration is required; doors open at 5:45 p.m. and activities start promptly at 6 p.m.  Families may attend any of the following Blast Off nights, but families are encouraged to take their child to the school that he or she plans to attend next fall.

The following dates and sites for Blast Off to Kindergarten in Madison County are:

  • April 12, Tenth Street Elementary School
  • April 13, Alexandria Monroe Elementary School
  • April 14, Valley Grove Elementary School
  • April 15, Eastside Elementary School
  • April 15, Erskine Elementary School
  • April 22, Frankton Elementary School
  • April 27, Anderson Elementary School
  • April 27, East Elementary School in Pendleton
  • April 28, Pendleton Elementary School
  • April 28, Maple Ridge Elementary School in Pendleton
  • April 29, Edgewood Elementary School in Elwood
  • April 29, Oakland Elementary School in Elwood
