7:45 a.m.: Alexandria, Frankton-Lapel, Elwood schools on two-hour delay

At least two Madison County school districts were running behind schedule Wednesday morning.

Alexandria-Monroe Community Schools reported a two-hour delay, pushing classes back from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Frankton-Lapel Community Schools, meanwhile, rescheduled classes for elementary students from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and for high school students from 7:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Elwood Community Schools also delayed its schedule two hours until 10 a.m.

Severe thunderstorms on Tuesday evening generated high winds in Madison County and surrounding areas. A representative of Elwood Community Schools said temperatures were around 14 below zero with the windchill factor and some bus routes were impacted by wind damage.

Anderson Community Schools and South Madison Community Schools reported no delay Wednesday morning.
