Red Tee Scramble set for today

The Red Tee Scramble will be at 1 p.m. today at Tri County Golf Club. There will be cash prizes, door prizes, hole prizes, drink specials, a cookout and bonfire to follow. Those interested can call (765) 533-4107 or sign up at the clubhouse. Teams will be chosen at noon.

Ruth/Ripken spots still available

The Anderson Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken Baseball League is still accepting players. The Cal Ripken (ages 4-12) opening day is May 13, and the Babe Ruth League (ages 13-18) will begin May 24. Fees are $70 per player or $170 for a family of three or more. Financing options are available. The Ripken League has acquired the ball diamonds on Madison Ave., next to the Soapbox Derby track. Basketball camps to take place in summer

Sports, Inc. in Anderson will have the 14th Annual Basketball Shooting Camp and the 14th Annual High Intensity Basketball Camp this summer. The shooting camp will be June 16-19, and the high intensity camp will be July 28-31. Players entering the second through fifth grades will attend from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Players entering the sixth through ninth grades will attend from 12:30 to 3 p.m. The cost is $55 per camp, with discounts for players from the same immediate family. AU to host basketball camp

The Anderson University basketball staff and players will conduct the Anderson University Basketball Camp from July 7 through 10. The morning session (9 a.m. to noon) is for girls and boys entering first through fourth grades, while the afternoon session (1 to 4 p.m.) is for girls entering the fifth through eighth grades. Campers receive a camp T-shirt, instructional materials, camper evaluation and player awards. The camp fee for each session is $65. Camper registration forms may be obtained by calling Marcie Taylor at (765) 641-4495 or by e-mailing mjtaylor@anderson.edu.

Softball meeting scheduled for April 29

The Anderson Parks and Recreation Department will have a meeting for Men’s, Women’s and coed slow-pitch softball, as well as men’s industrial fast-pitch softball, at 7 p.m. April 29 at the park office, 101 E.
