KCCA scramble to be held Sept. 26
The Killbuck Concerned Citizens Association Golf Scramble is set for noon Sept. 26 at Grandview Golf Course. The cost is $50 per individual or $200 per team, which includes greens fees, cart rental, prizes for first- and second-place teams, post-tournament burgers and more. Munciana volleyball programs begin Sept. 14
n Asics Munciana VolleyTots, a program for boys and girls in kindergarten through second grade, begins Sept. 14 at Wapahani High School, Selma. The six-week sessions will be from 4 to 5:10 p.m. each Sunday. The cost is $50, and includes a T-shirt.
n Asics Munciana Mini Volleyball, a program for boys and girls in third through fifth grades, begins Sept. 14 at Wapahani High School, Selma. The six-week sessions will be from 2 to 3:45 p.m. each Sunday. The cost is $75, and includes a T-shirt.

Ingalls softball tournament set

Geater Center to host Punt, Pass and Kick
The Geater Center and Anderson Parks and Recreation will host an NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 20 behind South Side Middle School, on the field across from Pay Less Supermarket at West 29th and Meridian streets. The competition is free and is open to boys and girls ages 8-15. Age classification is as of Dec. 31, 2008. Cooper’s Sports Bowl to host ‘Super Saturday’
Cooper’s Sport Bowl’s youth league “Super Saturday” kickoff party will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Games, prizes, $1 food items and free bowling will be offered with each paid youth bowling registration. Bowlers ages 3 to 21 are welcome to join a team in the youth bowling league. Frankton 5K run Sept. 20
The Frankton Heritage Days 5K Fun Run will be at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 20, with registration set for 7:30 a.m. at the Frankton High School parking lot. The entry fee is $12 before race day, and $15 the day of the race. Checks should be made payable to Frankton Heritage Days. Junior Golf Fall Classic planned for Sept. 20-21
The first annual Madison County Junior Golf Tour Fall Classic will be Sept. 20 and 21 at Idlewold Golf Club and Edgewood Golf Club. Registration cost for ages 6 and younger is $12, 7-8 is $12, 9-12 is $35, and 13-18 is $40. The 6-and-younger and 7-8-year-old divisions will be Sept. 21 at Edgewood. The other divisions will play both days, with 9-12-year-olds playing nine holes each day, and the 13-18-year-olds playing 18 holes each day. Tee times Sept. 20 will begin around 2 p.m. The final round tee times Sept. 21 at Edgewood will begin around 7:45 a.m. Registration deadline is Sept. 16. Frankton BSU day football tickets on sale
Frankton High School is selling tickets to its Sept. 20 game against Mississinewa at Ball State University’s Scheumann Stadium in the high school main office. The cost is $8 at the door until Sept. 19. The tickets will cost $10 at the door. For more information, call (765) 754-7556.

Softball team schedules tryouts

The deadline for the Anderson Youth Football Registration will be Sept. 12. The football season will begin Sept. 20. Participants can register at the Anderson Parks & Recreation Office, 101 E. Oak St. For questions or additional information call (765) 648-6858.

Lapel All-Sports Passes on sale
Prices have been established for the 2008-09 school year for the Lapel High School Athletic Department and are on sale at the high school office. Ticket prices are as follows: All-Sport Passes — Adult Pass, $60; Student Pass, $40; band students, $20; family (more than four), $200; senior citizens (65 and older) free. Single-game ticket prices for students and adults: varsity football, $5; JV football, $3; varsity volleyball, $5; JV volleyball, $3; varsity boys and girls basketball, $5; JV boys and girls basketball, $3; varsity wrestling, $5.

Fall basketball clinics scheduled
Sports, INC., in Anderson, will be holding basketball leagues and clinics for boys and girls in first through eighth grade. The Fall leagues are divided as follows:
Seventh- and eighth-grade boys team league start date: Sept. 13.
Seventh- and eighth-grade girls school team league start date: Sept. 14.
Fifth- and sixth-grade team leaguestart date: Sept. 22.
Third- and fourth-grade girls developmental league start date: Sept. 8.

AFT golf tournament set for Sunday
The Anderson Federation of Teachers will have its sixth annual golf tournament at 1 p.m. Sunday at Grandview Golf Course, with a shotgun start. Food and awards will follow the event in the shelter house. The cost is $50 per player or $200 per team. To sign up, call the AFT office at (765) 643-5432. Registration is limited to the first 27 teams.

AAU club forming teams
Anderson Hoop Kings/Queens AAU Basketball Club will begin forming teams for the upcoming season. Teams still in need of players are third/fourth-grade girls (developmental), third-grade boys (developmental) and fifth/sixth-grade boys. Teams will compete in local leagues and tournaments, and will practice Tuesday nights at Millcreek Civic Center in Chesterfield beginning Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. There is no cost to play in the program. Highland H.S. tickets on sale
The Highland High School Athletic Department is adopting a new sports ticketing system. Patrons can now purchase plastic sports passes with bar codes that will be scanned for admission into athletic events. Adults can purchase a fall sports pass for $60, a 10-event pass for $40 or full sports pass with reserved basketball seating for $70. Students can purchase a fall sports pass for $40, a 10-event pass for $30 or a full sports pass with reserved basketball seating for $50. The athletic office also has family passes available. Sports passes are good for general admission into Highland’s home sporting events with the exception of IHSAA tournaments, Madison County tournaments and Olympic Conference tournaments. Sports passes are on sale in Highland’s athletic office and continue through registration. Office hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, with a lunch break from noon to 1 p.m. For more information, call the Highland athletic office at (765) 641-2067.

Golf outing planned at Valley View for September
Teams and hole sponsors are being accepted for Golf Fore Education, a scholarship fundraising golf outing for the American Business Women’s Association. The Gazebo Charter Chapter of the association has awarded more than $22,000 to local women from Henry, Madison and Delaware counties. The outing is planned for Sept. 28 at Valley View Golf Course. The format is a four-player Florida Best Ball. Hole sponsorship is a $50 donation and $200 for a team. The first-place team wins $300. For more information, call Betty Riley at (765) 354-6126.
