PENDLETON — Pendleton Heights prepped for Saturday’s Madison County Golf Tournament by stopping Frankton 148-169 Wednesday at Idlewold Golf Club.

The Arabians’ Blake Stephenson shot a one-over-par 36 to claim medalist honors, but he had plenty of help. Teammates Jake Groninger and Brian Stanley were each a single shot back, and Tyler White carded a 38.

PH has one more tuneup, returning to Idlewold Friday to face Daleville. The win gives the Arabians a 4-4 record and drops Frankton to 2-3.

Hamilton Heights 165, Lapel 172, Elwood 199

Neither Lapel nor Elwood had a golfer shoot in the 30s for nine holes at the Cattails Golf Course in Elwood, so both teams finished behind Hamilton Heights.

Mason Lloyd topped the Bulldogs with a 42, while Michael Melvin paced Elwood with a 46. Lapel will take a 3-2 record into the County Tournament.

Alexandria 181, Blackford 194

Alexandria’s Matt Johnson shot a 43, just one shot off medalist honors, and all of his teammates broke 50 to secure the Tigers’ victory.

Brady Hays shot a 44 to log the second best score for the winners. Alexandria is 3-4 on the season.

Marion 161, Highland 171

Andrew Hanna shot a 40, but it wasn’t enough to keep Highland from dropping to 4-3 on the season.
