Highland golfer Austin Stagman picked up medalist honors with an 18-hole score of 82 at Monday’s Olympic Athletic Conference meet at Willow Brook Golf Course.
Connersville took the team title with a 343, followed by the Scots six strokes back at 349. Jay County was next with a 374 and Muncie South shot 417.
Stagman and teammate Andrew Hanna were both all-conference for the Scots as the latter fired an 85. Also for Highland, Zach Bailey carded an 89, while Trey Knight shot 93 and Brandon Selig had a 101.
Guerin Catholic 172, Liberty Christian 186
The Lions came up short in a match played at Plum Creek Golf Course in Noblesville.
Junior Alex Stinson was meet medalist with a 37, followed by teammate Evan Gibson’s 39. Other LC scores were Joel Girt and Scott Baker with 54s, Mark Hendricks with a 59 and Jordan Thomas’ 61.
Cowan 177, Frankton 181
The Eagles came close, but couldn’t defeat Cowan at Maplewood Golf Course.
Jordan Hiatt was low score for Frankton with a 42. Jeff Reed had a 45, as did Austin Taylor. Ryan Spangler and Trevor Hiatt both produced 49s for the Eagles.
Baseball
Pendleton Heights 11, Alexandria 0
The visiting Arabians pounded out 12 hits while limiting Alexandria to two thanks to the pitching of Tyler Holloway.
