A decision on Elwood resident Mary Beth Dunnichay's spot on the U.S. Olympic diving team is expected at 3 p.m. Saturday, according to a release sent late Friday night by USA Diving.

Dunnichay, who is slated to compete with Haley Ishimatsu in the 10-meter synchronized platform competition at the Beijing Games, had her bid challenged by fellow U.S. synchronized divers Laura Wilkinson and Jessica Livingston. A hearing was conducted Friday in Los Angeles, which ended late Friday.
