Tigers' Miller earns MVP honor

Alexandria hitter Lauren Miller was chosen as Most Valuable Player of the Madison County Volleyball Tournament.
The Tigers won the tournament championship for the fourth time in five years. Miller was joined on the honor squad by teammates Katie Muey and Adrienne DiRuzza on the First Team and Molly DiRuzza on the Second Team.
Rounding out the First Team were: Frankton’s Cortney Crooks and Lauren Hendricks; Highland’s Jarah Ice and Katie Lee, Elwood’s Sheena Smith and Liberty Christian’s Karon Earley.
The Second Team consisted of: Highland’s Emily Jones, Elwood’s Araka Short, Frankton’s Ashley Crooks, Liberty Christian’s Kelsea Lucas and Erika Lindley and Sarah Alvarez of Lapel.
The team was selected in a vote of Madison County coaches. Coaches from Pendleton Heights and Anderson didn’t attend the meeting and didn’t participate in the team selection process.
