Several local bowlers moving to semistate

The Alexandria girls fell just shy of a regional championship, finishing second. Qualifying second for the day with a 2,670 series, Alex fell short of that No. 1 seed by one pin. Having to face off with number three seed Richmond, Alexandria won, but had to face conference foe Noblesville. Alexandria fell short, but is moving on to semistate.

This year’s semi-state will be held at Western Bowl in Indianapolis Saturday. The singles division will begin at 9 a.m., with the team event scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time.

This weekend is the final weekend for the annual women’s tournament. Saturday squad times are singles and doubles at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Team is 4:30 p.m. only. Sunday squad times are singles and doubles 10 a.m. noon and 2 p.m. Team is 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome based on lane availability.

Also this weekend is the kick off of the annual local championship. Squad times are the same as the women’s. This tournament will end next weekend, Feb. 15-16. Walk-ins are welcome based on lane availability.
