Youth awarded scholarship money

The youth program at Cooper’s Sport Bowl has finished their season. Last Saturday the awards banquet and fun bowl was held with many scholarships being given out.

Cooper’s was quite full with the youth celebrating their accomplishments for the season and enjoying a day of food, bowling and awards. During the last two weeks of the regular season all scores in each league go toward the scholarship program.

Four leagues awarded the same amount of scholarship monies to the top three place finishers. First place was awarded $100, second place was awarded $80 and third place received $60.

The final results for Mary’s Kids was first place Jaxon Fetty with a 483 series, second place was Hanna Brunson with a 453 and third place was Hannah Cain with a 438. All series were two games with handicap.

Scholarship winners for the Preps and Noon Optimist was first place Jessica Simmons with a 703 series. Second place went to Brianna Ruiz with a 681 and Augusta Hollingsworth claimed third place with a 656 series. This division was a three-game series with handicap.

The Juniors Division is also a three-game series with handicap. Claiming first place was Rachel Fosnot with a 714 series. Taylor Morris finished in second place with a 684 and Schyler Ring placed third with a 643 series.

The Majors Division was the closest finish of the session with only one pin separating first and second place. Bryce Wright took home top honors rolling a 741 series. Matt Robey rolled a 740 finishing in second place. Third place winner Kortney Ashbaugh had a 727 series. This was a three-game series plus handicap.

Although the Saturday morning youth leagues have finished for the season, Cooper’s has introduced a three-man team league for Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. The Trios league started this week, but teams are still welcome to join. This will be a short season program to help extend the youth bowling season.
