Arabians rally for softball victory

PENDLETON — The Lady Arabians scored their first run in the second inning cracking a 4-1 deficit.

Bailey Benefiel took victory on the mound pitched eight strikeouts surrendering one hit for four scoreless innings.

Morgan Hubble hit an over-the-fence homer making it her first home run for the season; Hubble also contributed a run and RBI.

Heather Wendling batted 2-for-3 plating two runs. Benefiel hit two doubles earning two RBIs.

Sydney Windlan, Jordan Dean and Branna Pryor each scored a run adding an RBI.

Pendleton (2-1) travels to South Bend Saturday for the Horseshoe Classic.

Anderson 13, Tri 3

STRAUGHN — Haley Helton was the winning pitcher sweeping a victorious five-inning win.

Hitting a single, stealing second and scoring on an infield ground-out hit by Sydney Schmitt, Donjanae Chamberlain plated the first run for the Indians.

Kaira Jackson went 3-for-3 hitting a double and Kaylie Qualls batted 3-for-4.

Anderson (1-0) hosts Fishers on Friday.

ANDERSON — Anderson Indians could not earn quick enough times to come on top.

The Indians took over the 100 and 300 yard hurdle event by Goolsby timing 16.37 in 100 yard and Muncy finishing second. Davis took the 400 yard dash win with a finishing time of 1:06:44.

Davis and Goolsby finished one and two in the high jump event; Davis jumped a 4-11 height.

Martin jumped a distance of 15 feet finishing first in the long jump event and Wraham placed second.

Anderson hosts Muncie Central next Wednesday.
