Aces roll on in CIT

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Colt Ryan scored a game-high 22 points, and Evansville knocked off visiting Tennessee State on Tuesday to advance to the second round of the Tournament.

Former Anderson star Troy Taylor scored four points and had five assists for the Purple Aces (19-14). Former Kokomo star D.J. Balentine added nine points for Evansville.

The Purple Aces will learn their next opponent after the first round is completed tonight.

“We are thrilled to death to get the win tonight,” Evansville coach Marty Simmons told the team’s website. “Our main focus right now is to get better and give ourselves more opportunities to play in the postseason.”
