DALEVILLE, Ind. —
The Daleville boys basketball team suffered through a dismal 0-21 season last year, but coach Corey Scott is looking to be more competitive and put up some wins during the 2012-13 campaign.
One advantage Scott has working for his squad this season is that he didn’t lose anyone from last year.
He returns seniors James Tungate, Blake Benner, Jarred Riddle and Dalen Beck, and they will be expected to lead the Broncos as they prep for their first game against Shenandoah on Nov. 21.
Scott will have some newcomers this year that will be relied on to stabilize a team that has gone just 2-40 in the last two seasons.
Senior Jordan Fisher, sophomore Bryce Stephens and freshman Elliott Jackson will be looked upon to complement their senior-laden team in hopes of adding wins to a team that is desperately seeking some success on the hardwood.
Scott is looking to be more competitive than the team he put on the floor last season and show improvement during the season.
“(Our) goals for this year are to compete at a high level and develop a team that works together and plays for each other,” he said. “We hope to show improvement throughout the year and compete with every team on our schedule.”
