ELWOOD, Ind. — Pendleton Heights senior Matt Robey took home the top honor at the high school bowling individual sectional by climbing from fourth place in the stepladder finals to claim the championship. Robey shot a 644 series in the three-game qualifier to give him the fourth and final spot in the finals.

As the stepladder finals began, Robey defeated third seed John Stevens (662) of Anderson High 204-168. Robey won over No. 2 seed Devin Tabada (666) of Fishers 204-159, as Tabada struggled to find the pocket. Robey then faced off with the No. 1 seed, Noblesville freshman Travis Holpuch (674). Keeping the match close, Robey finished first with a 216 game forcing Holpuch to double in the 10th. Holpuch blew the rack his first ball, and faltered on the second leaving the big four to shoot a 210 and concede defeat to Robey.
