Arabians mount another county title

The Bulldog’s Dalton Busch set the event record in the 400 meter dash and Anderson kept steady pressure all night on the Arabians. “Zach (Taylor) got us started, then our hurdlers ran great in the 110 and the ball just started rolling,” Potter said. “Eli Young and Parker Jones ran 1-2 in the 1600 and 3200. Chandler Wilson scored in the high jump and long jump and the 400. Ashton Wilson ran a great 400 and that 4 X 8 broke the record from 2006. There are nine teams in Indiana that have been under 3:30 and we are one of them.” Anderson scored wins in the discus, high jump, long jump and the 4 X 800 relay to finish third, 13 points behind the Arabians. “Anderson and Lapel bring out the best in our kids,” said Potter as the team stood on the track posing for pictures with the trophy. Busch won the 200 and 400 dashes, Noah Hendershot picked up wins in the 800 and 110 meter hurdles, Sean Thompson won the 300 hurdles and Devon Norrick won the shot put for Lapel.

Pole vault competition was held Thursday evening at Anderson High School. Pendleton’s Mark McCallister took the boys title with a vault of 11’6” while Anderson’s Marissa Childs won the girls title with a vault of 10’6.5”.
