NASHVILLE, Ind. — Searchers found two Pittsboro boys who became lost and spent about 18 hours in the woods of Brown County State Park by themselves.
The parents of 12-year-old Jason Sipes and his 11-year-old brother Josh reported them missing Thursday evening when they did not return about an hour after leaving to ride their bikes.
A search began immediately and continued all night, with state conservation officers following bike tracks on the park’s backcountry horse trails for more than six miles before losing them.
More park workers and volunteers on horseback joined the search at daybreak Friday, and the boys were found about noon walking on a horse trail.
A conservation officer says the boys were unharmed and spent the night sleeping under a picnic table near a trail.
