LEBANON — Three workers were hospitalized after part of the structure collapsed during construction of a pole barn.
Boone County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Brian Stevenson says the men were placing trusses on the barn frame when the accident occurred Friday at the construction site near Indiana 32 east of Lebanon. Authorities say two men fell about 40 feet as the trusses collapsed, and a third on the ground also was injured.
The three men were taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with multiple injuries. A fourth person was treated at the scene north of Indianapolis in rural Boone County.
Stevenson said the barn was being built by Frame Rite, a subcontractor of TMC Custom Builders. A home also was being built on the site.
There was no phone listing for Frame Rite in the Indianapolis area and the company could not be reached for comment.
