Only seven counties in southern Indiana aren't under some type of travel restrictions because of the frigid air gripping Indiana.
The Indiana Department of Homeland Security reports 54 counties covering much of the northern two-thirds of are under travel warnings that asks residents to refrain from traveling. Another 21 counties have issued travel watches, which means residents are asked to use the roads for only essential travel because conditions are threatening to public safety.
The remaining 10 counties are under travel advisories, which means routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation.
