ELWOOD — Carl Barnard, 84, of Elwood, died May 7, 2008, at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood after an extended illness.
He was retired from Delco Remy of Anderson and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Arta “Gwen” (Clark) Barnard; two daughters, Kathryn DeLong, husband, Frank and Terri Chastain and husband, Don of Markleville; one son, James “Mike” Barnard, wife, Arlene; one sister, Judy Webber of Markleville; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Madison Christian Church. His remains will be scattered on his birthday, Aug. 10, where he always went fishing.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison Christian Church of Frankton.
