Park Place craft bazaar Nov. 17

ANDERSON — The Annual Holiday Bazaar sponsored by the Uganda Mission Team of Park Place Church of God will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 in the Park Place Community Center gymnasium (formerly Park Place Elementary School), 802 E. Fifth St., Anderson.

Applications are being taken for all crafters, retailers, and anyone who would like to make extra money selling their products. A food court will be available.

Table/space is $20 each, 2 tables/space is $35, 3 tables/space is $55, or 4 tables/space is $75. Reserve a spot by calling Loretta, 642-0216, or 635-6724. Proceeds from rental of booths will benefit the Uganda Mission Team at Park Place Church of God.

Styx headed to Honeywell Center

WABASH — If you missed out on the opportunity to see Styx this summer at Hoosier Park, the rock group will return to Indiana on Oct. 12. The concert is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Honeywell Center in Wabash.

Lapel ‘Trunk or Treat’ is Oct. 31

LAPEL — The Lapel Community Unity Committee in conjunction with area churches will host a “Trunk or Treat” on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Daybreak Church — the former high school building on north Main St., Lapel.

Children will receive treats from residents parked in the lot and all guests will enjoy cider and doughnuts, storytelling, music and a bonfire. For more information call the offices of Trinity UMC at 534-4222 or Ford Street UMC at 534-3314.

OES 154 hosts brunch/style show

ANDERSON — The Anderson Chapter 154 Order of the Eastern Star will hold its annual fundraiser, “Paradise of Fashions” brunch/style show, at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20 at Mount Moriah, 3921 Nichol Ave. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased by calling Judy Dick at 754-7071 or Joyce McNeil at 644-8395.

Bids for Kids ride set for Oct. 13

LAPEL — The first-ever Mardi Gras Bike/Car Ride benefiting Bids for Kids will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13. Registration begins at 10 a.m. at Mardi Gras with the first bike out at noon. There will be activities and raffles at each stop (Mardi Gras, Sparky’s, Halo’s, Clip Zone, The Edge).

Cost is $25 per driver and $10 per rider. T-shirts will be available for sale.

Library’s children’s programs to begin

FRANKTON — Frankton Community Library’s children’s programs will begin soon.

Story time for pre-schoolers ages 3-5 will be Tuesdays from 10:30-11 a.m.. The Afternoon Adventure Club will be split into two age groups this year: kindergarten through second grade on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and third and fourth grade on Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Classes will start the week of Oct. 8 and will meet once a week.

Chicken noodle dinner is Saturday

ALEXANDRIA —  First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 215 W. Berry St., Alexandria, will host its annual chicken and noodle dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Carry-outs will be available.

Advance tickets are available from church members.

Breakfast to be served Sunday

ANDERSON — Madison County Voiture 510 40&8, 1600 S. Rangeline Road, will serve an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Carryout will be available. Cost is $7.
