Chesterfield Christian bazaar Saturday
CHESTERFIELD — The Christian Women’s Fellowship of the Chesterfield Christian Church will have its annual bazaar and rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. There will also be a bake shop, pet snacks and pet toys, crafts, used jewelry, sewing items, toys and clothing.
A lunch of vegetable soup and sloppy joes will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $2.50. A chicken noodle dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $6.50 for adults and $3 for children under age 10.
Musical auditions under way
OVID — Ovid Community Church will begin auditions Wednesday for its Christmas musical “Rented Christmas.” Hours will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in the church’s music rehearsal room, south carport entry.
Additional auditions will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6 and 7 at the same location. For more information, call the church office at 642-0551, ext. 200.
Johnny Nevada to play at Mounds park
ANDERSON — A trio of musicians and singers will perform at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Mounds State Park nature center amphitheater. Lead guitarist and singer Johnny Nevada, bassist Sally McCoy and percussionist Tasmo-Geo Tanner will play blues, rock and country.
Some bench seating is available, but bring a lawn chair or blanket for hillside seating. The performance is free of charge, but the park admission fee is $5 for in-state vehicles, $7 for out-of-state vehicles. For questions, call the Mounds State Park Interpretive Center at 649-8128.
Parks plan Fall Break activities
ANDERSON — Anderson Parks and Recreation plans Get Active!! Fall Break activities for Oct. 28-29. Cost is $50 per student.
A trip to the Cincinnati Zoo and the Freedom Center is planned for Thursday, and on Friday the day will be spent at the Caribbean Cove Indoor Water Park.
Registration ends Friday, Oct. 22, and is open for 50 students in grades 4 through 6. For more information, call the park office at 648-6858.
Hostas topic at garden club meeting
ALEXANDRIA — The Small Town Garden Club will host its meeting at the Alexandria Community Center, 315 S. Harrison St., at 6:30 p.m. Monday for a social hour. Meetings are open to the public.
The 7 p.m. program will be “Tips on Growing Hostas and other Shade Lovers,” by Advanced Master Gardener Loretta Heiniger.

Donations sought for clothing giveaway
ANDERSON — The Ladies Group of Central Community Chapel is accepting donations of children’s clean and gently used clothing for its giveaway Tuesday, Oct. 12.

Wilson chili supper scheduled Friday
PENDLETON — A chili supper to raise campaign funds for Madison County Commissioner Paul Wilson will take place from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Community Building in Falls Park, Pendleton. Donations will be accepted.
