Danny J. Richards, 56, of Anderson, died Dec. 24, 2005, as the result of a sudden illness.   

He was born Feb. 22, 1949, in Anderson, where he lived his entire life.

For over 25 years, he was the Chairman of the Conduct Adjustment Board at the Pendleton Reformatory.

He served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Army as a MP. He received the National Defense Medal, Bronze Star and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

He was an avid card player and enjoyed watching the horses at Anderson's Hoosier Park.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Sandy (Bolton) Richards; daughter, Katrina and husband Calvin; son, Trevor Richards of Anderson; siblings, Ronald T. and wife Linda Lawson, Donald Grant Richards, James Otis and wife Mary Richards, Dorthea Elaine Reagan and friend Nathan Atkisson, Mildred Gladys Castor, Walden Edward Richards, Ralph Paul Richards and Companion Debbie Fisher, Bonnie Denise and husband Bird Reagan, Julie Kay Richards and Dottie Leeann Jarvis; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A special thanks is extended to Dr. Scott Green and Dr. Roderick Sawyer and members of their staffs.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Odus Richards Jr. and Allyene (Goodpastor) Richards; and a sister, Susie D. Hancock.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, South Chapel; 200 W. 53rd St.; Anderson, officiated by Pastor Brad Smith. Burial will take place at Pleasant Walk Cemetery, Anderson.   

Visitation one hour prior to the Tuesday service at the South Chapel.
