ANDERSON - A meeting is scheduled Thursday for members of the Delphi Salaried Retiree Association, specifically alaried employees and former Delphi salaried employees who have not yet elected to receive their Delphi pension from the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation.
The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Rangeline Community Center Auditorium, 1405 N. Rangeline Road.
Topics that will be covered include the DSRA legal challenge and political action, salaried pension impact from the plans transferred to the PBGC, and benefits of the DSRA Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association.
The following advance information is provided:
-- Active salaried employees who qualified for a Delphi retirement prior to PBGC termination (Aug. 1, 2009) can significantly benefit from DSRA legal action.
-- Active salaried employees hired prior to Jan. 1, 1988 who did not achieve retirement eligibility before plan termination have some potential for pension improvement.
-- Active salaried employees hired after Jan. 1, 1988 have limited opportunity for improvement in their pension.
All salaried employees – regardless of eventual pension status – qualify for significant benefits from DSRA health care plans when they begin receiving pension from PBGC. Life insurance options are also available.
