INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis police officer has been released from a rehabilitation facility two months after he was shot in the head by a murder suspect.

Officer Jason Fishburn attended an Indiana Fever women’s basketball game Thursday night along with his family, police and city officials.

Relatives say Fishburn will continue outpatient therapy two to three times a week and will need additional surgery.

Fishburn was shot in the left side of his head July 10. A suspect is being held without bond in the Marion County Jail.

Fishburn’s father, Dennis Fishburn, says his son has regained limited movement in his right arm. He can sometimes walk without assistance, but sometimes has trouble speaking.
