MARKLEVILLE — An Anderson man was injured and airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital after the car he was driving struck a tree early Friday morning, police said.
Larry G. Addison, 53, suffered broken bones and other internal injuries, according to an accident report filed by the Madison County Sheriff's Department. He was transported from the accident scene to St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital and then flown to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
According to the police report, Addison was driving northbound in a 2013 Ford Focus on Madison County Road 300 East approaching the intersection of County Road 900 South about 1 a.m. when the car went left of center, crossed the southbound lane and struck a tree head-on.
Police believe drugs to be a factor in the crash. The investigation was ongoing as of Friday evening.
