ANDERSON — A Madison County Sheriff's Department captain walked away with only minor injuries after the truck he was driving on Interstate 69 hydroplaned and flipped Friday morning.
Capt. Robert Oleksy, 48, was driving to training on I-69 in Grant County near the 263 mile marker when his truck hit a patch of water and left the road before coming to a rest upside down.
According to a release from Sheriff Ron Richardson, Oleksy was able to climb out of the vehicle and refused treatment at the scene.
Oleksy has been with the force for 18 years and is expected to make a full recovery.
Heavy rains Thursday night and Friday morning led to flooding in Grant County, and parts of I-69 were closed after water flooded the highway.
