INGALLS — Authorities closed the southbound lanes of Interstate 69 for about a half-hour Sunday morning after two vehicles collided.
Pendleton Fire Chief Danny Gardner said two people were transported to IU Saxony Hospital for treatment following the mid-morning accident. It was not immediately clear what injuries the victims sustained.
Gardner said it appeared one vehicle struck a cable highway barrier at the 215 mile marker, moved back into a southbound travel lane and was struck by another vehicle.
Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson said Ingalls police were handling the investigation. A department spokesman could not be reached on Sunday.
Meanwhile, yet another overnight dusting of snow created slippery conditions throughout Madison County Sunday morning, according to posts on the Madison County Emergency Management Agency's Facebook page.
It was not immediately clear if weather conditions contributed to the interstate accident.
