ALEXANDRIA — A fourth person has died from injuries sustained in an apartment fire one week ago.

Barry Tracy, 27, died Friday at Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis, according to a hospital official who could not release an exact time and cause of death.

The fire also killed Tracy’s fiancé, Erin Williams, 27, and the couple’s two sons, 2-year-old Bryden and 4-year-old Brisyn Tracy.

Their daughter, 2-week-old Elysah Tracy, was in stable condition last week at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. An update on her condition was unavailable late Saturday.

Barry Tracy also has an 8-year-old daughter who was spending the night with her grandmother at the time of the fire.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday for Williams and her two sons. The funeral is at Daleville United Methodist Church.

The fire was Sunday morning at 201 N. Sheridan St. Apt. B. Alexandria fire officials determined the fire started on a living room couch, and investigators found an open Zippo lighter nearby. Alexandria Fire Department Capt. said last week they had not determined if the Zippo started the fire.

The fire was being investigated as an accident, according to city police. The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s office was analyzing carpet samples from the apartment to help determine exactly how the fire started, Alexandria Fire Chief Bruce Waters has said.

The fire’s heat was so severe that it melted the fire detector, making it difficult to determine if the fire detector was working, according to police.
