PENDLETON — The town of Pendleton will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its bike share program at 10 a.m. Saturday in front of the Pendleton Community Public Library, 595 Water St.

The program was started through a cooperative effort between the town of Pendleton, Buckskin Bikes and Community Hospital Anderson, Pendleton Assistant Planning Director Rachel Christenson said.

The bike share program has three locations: at the library, in Falls Park by the playground and downtown along Pendleton Avenue, she said.

Bikes will be accessed through a mobile app called Movatic, which will show users where available bikes are located. A bike costs $3 to check out and $1 for every 30 minutes after check-out, Christenson said.

"I'm really excited. I think it's a very good thing to offer our residents," she said. "I'm looking forward to getting some public feedback."
