PAOLI — U.S. marshals have arrested a second suspect in a southern Indiana dog fighting operation in which more than 100 pit bulls were seized.

Seventy-two-year-old Eli Taylor of Louisville, Ky., was being held Friday night on $20,000 bond in the Orange County Jail in Paoli. He was arrested Thursday in Louisville on charges of possessing an animal for use in an animal fighting contest, possessing animal fighting paraphernalia, promoting an animal fighting contest and cruelty to an animal.

Police arrested 39-year-old Brian E. Denny of French Lick on similar charges last week after seizing 109 dogs at Orange County sites owned by the two men.

Authorities say the suspects apparently bred and trained dogs for use in illegal fights.
