Truck fire on I-69 near Pendleton

Ingalls police said there were no injuries and no charges filed or anticipated in a Monday afternoon crash on northbound Interstate 69 after a pickup truck struck the rear end of a tractor-trailer, causing the pickup to catch fire. The pickup truck’s driver, a 41-year-old local woman, said she became distracted while driving. Ingalls assistant police chief Capt. Keogh said the woman was able to exit the vehicle and bystanders helped her to remain at a safe distance until help arrived. The crash happened about 12:40 p.m. at the 213.7 mile marker, Keogh said. The Pendleton Fire Department and Pendleton EMS responded. The woman declined transport and treatment.
