PENDLETON — Carole Ellen (Culmer) Cauley, 79, passed away Jan. 16, 2015, at the Rawlins House in Pendleton.
She was born April 23, 1935, in Robinson, Ill., and was a Pendleton resident since 1970.
Carole was a homemaker and attended Indiana University, where she majored in psychology and English literature.
She was a devoted member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Anderson. She was very involved in volunteer work at the church with the funeral dinner committee, annual rummage sale, mailing out cards to shut-ins, Mother Seton Widows Group, St. Mary’s Senior Group, Madison County Linus Project and Pendleton Community Library Lunch Bunch.
She enjoyed opera and classical music and attended many symphonies and concerts as well as being a great animal lover.
Survivors include her children, Kevin (wife, Suzie) Cauley of Anderson, Patrick (wife, Tina) Cauley of Pendleton, Anne Lyon of Pendleton, Mary K. (husband, Paul) Horvat of North Carolina and Julia (husband, Tim) Schnepp of Pendleton; son-in-law, Gary Dulworth of Pendleton; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thaddeus Williamson and Helen Katherine (Hurst) Culmer; husband, Charles Michael Cauley, whom she married June 9, 1956, and passed away Feb. 18, 1983; daughter, Veronica Dulworth; and brother, Thaddeus Williamson Culmer II.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 2801 Lincoln St., Anderson, with Msgr. Robert Sell officiating. Graveside service with burial following will be at 12 p.m. CST Wednesday at Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson, Ill.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton.
