Cheryl L. Mollenkopf, 61, of Anderson, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Community Northview Care Center in Anderson, following an extended illness.
She was born Oct. 12, 1950, in Anderson, Ind., to Norman and Ruth (Wastell) Mollenkopf.
She graduated from Pendleton High School, Class of 1969.
In 1990, Cheryl retired from the former Guide Lamp Division of General Motors in Anderson. For many years, she worked at the Red Lobster Restaurant in Anderson.
For 32 years, she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Survivors include her son, Garrett Cornell of Noblesville; grandson, Logan Cornell of Anderson; niece, Julie (husband, Steve) Larson of Eagan, Minn.; sister-in-law, Cheryl Brockberg of Mankato, Minn.; three nephews, Jamie, Jason and Justin Mollenkopf; and special friends, Sharon Kowalski of Lapel and Vanessa Courtney of Anderson.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Evelyn Mollenkopf; brothers, Joe and Roger Mollenkopf; niece, Jill Mollenkopf; and a great-nephew, Michael Larson.
A Beta Sigma Phi Sorority memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 N. Main St., Lapel, to be followed by a memorial service, officiated by Pastor David Owens.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Community Cancer Care Center or the Madison County Humane Society.
