ARCADIA — Margaret Maxine Landes, 93, of Arcadia, died March 9, 2015, at Maple Park Village in Westfield.
She was born July 12, 1921, in Arcadia, to Lora Ward and Myrtle May (Baden) Belzer.
Margaret had worked at the Walnut Grove School cafeteria and later at Best Lock Co. in Indianapolis.
She was a member of Arcadia Church of the Brethren, the Women’s Fellowship, and had served as a deaconess at the church. She had also been active with the Tri-Town Senior Citizens.
She married Robert Eller Landes on March 27, 1938. He preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 2010. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Edna Whisler Mitchell.
Surviving are her son, Robert Eugene Landes of Sheridan; three daughters, Patricia Stephenson of Lapel, Oliveann Nightenhelser of Atlanta, Ind., and Lynette Duvall of Cicero; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Arcadia Church of the Brethren, 8989 E. 266th St., Arcadia, with Pastor Mark Knapp officiating. Burial will follow in Arcadia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
