Robert E. Meyer

AUSTIN, Texas — Robert E. Meyer, 50, died May 13, 2007, in Austin, Texas, after an extended illness.

He was born in Princeton, Ind., and grew up in Anderson. He graduated from Anderson High School in the class of 1974, and also attended Indiana University.

Robert enjoyed life by traveling to many foreign countries and writing poetry.

His last employment was roof estimating for CMR Roofing in Indianapolis in 2006. He had worked in the bonding business for several years in Texas.

Survivors include a son, Casey Meyer; brothers, Jack W. and Jeffery S. Meyer, all of Houston, Texas; father, Jack L. and stepmother, Darlene S. Meyer; stepsister, Lesley Ring; stepbrother, Rick and Rock Ebbert, all of the Anderson, Elwood area; several aunts and uncles; and a very special friend of 25 years, Ann Beckman of Austin, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Meyer; and a younger brother, Steven L. Meyer.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the Austin Hospice Care and a very special thank you to Ann Beckman who devoted so much time to care for Robert during his final three months.

Services were conducted by a Simple Tradition Funeral Home of Austin, Texas.

A memorial service was held at the home of Ann Beckman on May 16. The service was attended by family and many of Robert’s friends from the Austin-Houston area.

Burial will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.
