Sandy Kay (Hoffman) Winkler, 50, a cake decorator for Wal-Mart and a secretary at Hurricane Painting in Wichita, died May 25, 2011, in Wichita.
She was born June 10, 1960, in Kendallville, Ind.
She served in the U.S. Navy for six years after graduating from Highland High School in Anderson, Ind., then was the first female head of heating and cooling for an apartment complex of 250 apartments for several years.
She was a confirmed member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her children, Rachael (Sal) Medrano and Jeremy (Tyla) Winkler; grandchildren, Elliott Medrano, Savannah Medrano and McKenzie Winkler; parents, Robert (Connie) Hoffman and Nancy (Max) Jones; sisters, Shari Hoffman and Sharyl (Keith) Hammon; stepgrandfather, Richard Parish; stepsister, Shawna Hamlin; and stepbrother, Ken Sizelove.
She was preceded in death by her son, Casey Elliot Winkler, who was 3 months old; grandmother, Winifred Hiatt; and stepgrandmother, Clara Parish.
Memorial services were conducted May 31 at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Scott Osburn officiating.
