ANDERSON — Four players from the Anderson Ravens baseball team, currently competing on summer league teams, were named to their respective league's all-star teams this week, according to a press release from the university.
Joe Moran, also an Anderson High School graduate, has been named to the Northwoods League All-Star Game, which was announced by the league on Friday.
Moran currently competes for the Thunder Bay Border Cats and will represent the Great Plains Division Team. In five starts, Moran is 3-0 with a 1.40 ERA. He has currently struck out 22 batters in 25 2/3 innings.
For the Ravens in 2019, Moran was 7-1 with a 3.20 earned run average in 11 appearances, all starts. In 59 innings pitched, he allowed just 48 hits with 66 strikeouts. At the plate, Moran led the team with a .362 batting average and five home runs while driving in 25 and adding seven doubles. He boasted a .535 slugging percentage and was successful on 20 of 23 stolen base attempts.
Adam Paschal, Grant Thompson, and Kasey Henderson were each selected to the Indiana Collegiate Summer League/Midwest Prospect Baseball League All-Star Game, which is scheduled for this weekend.
Paschal and Thompson will be representing the ICSL All-Stars as both are currently competing for the Summit City Sluggers. Henderson is playing for the Richmond Roosters and will represent the MPBL All-Stars.
Paschal played in 30 games for the Ravens in 2019, compiling a .272 batting average and a .427 on-base percentage.
Thompson hit .288 last season with two home runs, 12 RBIs, three doubles, and two triples for a .485 slugging percentage.
In 2019, Henderson made 15 relief appearances for AU. He was 1-1 with a 4.22 ERA and three saves while striking out 25 batters in 32 innings pitched.
Paschal (Delta), Thompson (Wapahani), and Henderson (Cowan) all played their high school ball in neighboring Delaware County.
The ISCL/MPBL All-Star Game is set for 1 p.m. on Sunday at Warren Central High School in Indianapolis.
The Northwoods League All-Star Game is scheduled for July 16 at 8:05 p.m. ET at Riverfront Stadium in Waterloo, Iowa.
