INDIANAPOLIS - For those longing for the days when Anderson and Ben Davis would hook up on the hardwood for 32 minutes, there were two options. One is to pop in a video tape of any AHS Vs. BD boys game from the 90’s. Option two was to head to the west side of Indianapolis last night to view the Anderson Lady Tribe and the Ben Davis Lady Giants enacting their own chapter in the AHS Vs BD series.

Unfortunately for anyone in Red and Green, Anderson High’s Lady Tribe didn’t do themselves any favors when it came to legitimizing themselves as a top contending program after dropping a pair of games at the Ben Davis Holiday Classic.

AHS fell in the consolation game 64-56 to the host Ben Davis Lady Giants after falling to Plainfield in the morning session 80-73.

Teamwise the performance against BD was best left to a video tape session. As far as the individual numbers were concerned, AHS put three players in double figures scoring. Sophomore LaKeisha Noethtich lead the Tribe with 15 points. Junior De’Ja Wills added 13 and freshman Whitney Clark scored 12 off the pine.

Anderson was outrebounded by the Giants 37-33, with Paige Wooten and Makeba Head each grabbing five boards for team highs. Clark was close behind with four rebounds.

Field goal percentage was a telling stat for Anderson’s downfall. The Indians managed to connect on just 18 of 55 from the field (32.7 percent). Included in that was a 7 for 20 shooting night from 3-point land for a respectable 35 percent. At the foul line AHS hit 9 of 15 from the stripe for a 60 percent clip.

Anderson trailed by as many as 10 points and went on runs to cut the game to a one possession affair but just couldn’t get over the hump against the Giants.

Anderson is 9-5 and is idle until next Saturday Jan. 7 when the travel to Richmond to resume North Central Conference play.
